Additional information

Tributyl phosphate is a non volatile liquid substance with low water solubility and low vapour pressure.

Experimental data obtained via oral exposure route better describes systemic toxicity of tributyl phosphate. Overall, it is considered thatthe available experimental data is adequate, relevant and reliable to perform the safety assessment for this substance.

The following systemic toxicity values for tributyl phosphate were observed in studies in rodents:

Chronic:

·                   NOEL (mice, 18 months, systemic toxicity effects, including carcinogenicity) =24.1 mg/kg bw/day (males) and 28.9 mg/kg bw/day (females).

·                   LOAEL (rats, 2 year, carcinogenicity) =143 mg/kg bw/day (male).
