A 14 d EC50 value of 0.6 mg/kg dry weight soil has been determined for the effects of furan on lettuce, Lactuca sativa (Hulzebos et al. 1993). The US EPA database reports other EC50 values for lettuce, however these are in terms of mg/l and not useful for the purposes of REACH.
