Description of key information

The test item 2-(4-Amino-2-nitroanilino)ethanol melted in the range of 122.5 °C to 125.5°C (395.7 K to 398.6 K).

The determination of the melting point of 2-(4-Amino-2-nitroanilino)ethanol was performed by visual judgement using the capillary method following EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature), the OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point/Melting Range) and the GLP.

In the preliminary test, the test item starts melting at 126 °C. The test item showed all five stages of melting from stage A when the melting started at 122.5°C to the last stage E of melting at 125.5°C

At the end of the test, the test item was liquid and dark purple.

The test item 2-(4-Amino-2-nitroanilino)ethanol melted in the range of 122.5 °C to 125.5°C (395.7 K to 398.6 K).

This melting point test is classified as acceptable, and satisfies the guideline requirements for the OECD 102 and EU Method A1.
