Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The available results were conducted in accordance to an appropriate guideline. However, the most recent standard study which is reliable without restriction (Instituto Guido 1995) was selected as the key study. A ready biodegradation value of 82% in 28 days (OECD 301F) was obtained for the test substance. Other supporting study gave a ready biodegradation values of 75% in 28 days (OECD 301F). The available studies gave consistent results that are considered reliable for the purpose of environmental assessment. The test substance is found to be readily biodegradable.

The presence of branched structures does not appear confer it any different environmental properties compared to the Alcohols, C14 -15 linears only substance. Therefore the data is freely read-across between Alcohols, C14 -15 -branched and linear and Alcohols, C14 -15 substances.

In some cases the CAS and chemical identity stated refer to SDA nomenclature for this substance. In REACH substance identification it is necessary to be more specific as to the chain lengths present. Full details may be found in the CSR.
