Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

To determine the chronic toxicity of 2,2',2"-nitrilotriethanol to aquatic invertebrates, a non-GLP study following an internal method of the German Federal Environmental Agency was performed using a semi-static procedure (Kuehn et al./UBA 1989). The calculated NOEC value for Daphnia magna after an exposure period of 21 days in this study was 16 mg/l.

For DEA there is one valid BASF GLP semi-static study conducted 1992 according to the draft EEC guideline XI/681/86 "Prolonged toxicity study withDaphnia magna: Effects on reproduction" available. The NOEC after 21 days of exposure based on reproduction was determined to be 0.78 mg/L.

Since DEA is present in the substance at a maximum amount of 25% the NOEC for the substance is estimated to be 0.78/0.25= 3.12 mg/L
