Administrative data

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
October 26, 1992 - October 29, 1992
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
This study has been performed according to OECD 104 (1981), EU Method A.4 (1984) and according to GLP principles. But as the vapour pressure of the substance is below 1 Pa, the used method is considered to be not the most suitable method. Additionally, regression line was constructed using ln p data instead of log p. Limited information available to verify the composition of the used test substance.

Any other information on results incl. tables

- The vapour pressure measurements were started at 36.43°C. The vapour pressure decreased with subsequent measurements, but this decrease was negligible after measurement 100. During measurement 114 the temperature of the thermostatic bath in which the sample vessel is immersed was lowered to 30.12°C and finally during measurement 131 to 23.81°C. During measurement 154 the experimental part of the study was finished.

- Fitting this data according to Clark & Glew gives a value of 0.195 Pa (CV: 12%) for the vapour pressure of the test substance at 25 degrees Celsius

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of the substance was determined to be 0.195 Pa (at 25 degrees Celsius), using with the static method according to OECD 104 (1981), EU Method A.4 (1984) and according to GLP principles.
