Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The ionisable constituents of Fatty acids, C10-12, esters with polylactic acid, sodium salts will mainly exist in dissociated form in the environment (pKa range: 3.31 – 3.51). The available QSAR calculations for the main substance constituents, taking the pH dependency of into account, predict log Koc values of 1.99– 2.18 at pH 7. The adsorption potential of the single constituents decreases with increasing pH. Generally, a low adsorption potential is indicated by the log Koc values at environmentally relevant pH values (pH 5- 9), and thus the substance is expected to be mobile in soil. Based on the moderate water solubility (0.12 g/L at 20 °C) the substance is mainly expected to be present and to be transported by natural water bodies. Volatilisation from soil or water surfaces is not likely due to the low experimentally determined vapour pressure of 1.84E-03 Pa at 20 °C. In general, the substance is not likely to accumulate and persist in the environment due to its ready biodegradability (75% after 28 d, OECD 301 B).
