Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with water as a precaution. If eye irritation

persists, consult a specialist.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water ans soap as a precaution. If symptoms

persist, call a physician.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink water as a precaution. Never give anything by mouth to

an unconscious person. If a person vomits when lying on his

back, place him in the recovery positionµ.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local

circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Product arising from burning: Heating or fire conditions liberates toxic gas. To avoid

thermal decomposition, do not overheat.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Eyes protection: safety glasses

Hand protection: protective gloves

Respiratory protection: In the case of respirable dust

and/or fumes, use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event

of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Protective measures: Facilities storing or utilizing this

material should be equipped with an eyewash facility.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal precautions: Ventilate the area. Refer to

protective measures.

Environmental precautions: Try to prevent the material from

entering drains or water courses.

Do not contaminate surface water.

Methods for cleaning up: Take up mechanically and collect in

suitable container for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: No special handling advice required. For personal protection

see section 8 of the MSDS (Annex 8). In case of

insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory

equipment.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated

place. No special storage conditions required.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation SPECTRACE MD-710 will be transported into

steel drums of 180 kg.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure Limits:

No exposure limits established.

Personal Protection:

Eye/Face Protection: Use safety glasses (with side shields).

Skin Protection: Wear clean, body-covering clothing.

Hand protection: Use gloves chemically resistant to this material when prolonged or frequently repeated contact could occur.

Respiratory Protection: Respiratory protection should be worn when there is a potential to exceed the exposure limit requirements or guidelines. If there are no applicable exposure limit requirements or guidelines, wear respiratory protection when adverse effects, such as respiratory irritation or discomfort have been experienced, or where indicated by your risk assessment process. In dusty or misty atmospheres, use an approved particulate respirator.

Ingestion: Use good personal hygiene. Do not consume or store food in the work area. Wash hands before smoking or eating.

Engineering Controls:

Ventilation: Use local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below exposure limit requirements or guidelines. If there are no applicable exposure limit requirements or guidelines, general ventilation should be sufficient for most operations. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic

environment.

Chemical reaction with water: None.

Dust explosion: TBPAAQ is a dense crystalline solid with no dusting

property. Because TBPAAQ is non-combustible and non-dusting,

the possibility of dust explosion is minimal.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not possible to recover or recycle used substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: There is no known method to render the substance less harmfu

l.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Controlled discharge is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Wastes from use will be sent to an approved solvent waste

stream for incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: No other recommended methods of destruction.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable for the public at large.
