DSC Analysis

There were no exothermic events seen in the DSC analysis. However there was one endothermic event with an onset temperature of 297.56°C and an energy of -397.48 Jg-1. As there was no exothermic event with energy >500 Jg-1the test substance would not be considered as explosive.

 

The DSC thermogram is shown in Figure 23 (attached).

Theoretical Assessment

Bernel Ester TCC does not have any groups with explosive potential. The oxygen balance was ‑245.10 %. An oxygen balance of <-200 is not considered to show explosive potential. It is therefore concluded that Bernel Ester TCC does not exhibit explosive properties.
