Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The atmospheric half-life of the major compounds contained in the substance was predicted using the software AOPWIN v1.92. For the different pyridine bases, the software considers dissipation by the reaction of the organic molecules with hydroxyl radicals. The following half-lives were predicted (based on a day with 12 hours light and a default concentration of 1.5x10^6 molecules per cm3):

- 2,4-Lutidine: t1/2 = 45.95 hours

- 2,5-Lutidine: t1/2 = 88.15 hours

- 2,3-Lutidine: t1/2 = 88.15 hours

- 4-Picoline: t1/2 = 116.48 hours

- 3-Picoline: t1/2 = 116.48 hours

- 2-ethylpyridine: t1/2 = 63.52 hours

- 5-ethyl-2-methylpyridine: t1/2 = 53.17 hours
