Description of key information

DL and L-Alanine are both readily biodegradable. The hydrolytical stability was therefore not evaluated.

DL and L-Alanine are not expected to undergo hydrolysis in the environment due to the lack of functional groups that hydrolyze under environmental conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

DL and L-Alanine are not expected to undergo hydrolysis in the environment due to the lack of functional groups that hydrolyze under environmental conditions.

DL and L-Alanine is readily biodegradable. In accordance with REACH Annex VIII No. 9.2.2.1 column 2, the study "Hydrolysis as a function of pH" does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable.
