Conclusion on classification

Environmental fate and pathways

Readily biodegradable: 77% within 28 d(EU Method C.4-E, activated sludge, domestic)

Log Kow: 2.39 at 22.7 °C (OECD 117, HPLC method)

Aquatic acute toxicity

Aquatic invertebrates

24.1 mg/L < EC50 (48 h) < 94.3 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured, EU Method C.2, D. magna)

ErC50 (72 h) = 62.2 mg/L(geom. mean measured, OECD 201, P. subcapitata)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

ErC10 (72 h) = 26.8 mg/L (geom. mean measured, OECD 201, P. subcapitata)

Conclusion on Classification

The test substance is readily biodegradable and the log Kow is below 4. Two studies are available for aquatic toxicity covering aquatic microalgae and invertebrates . Based on this data the substance does not need to be classified for acute or chronic aquatic hazards according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (9thATP).
