The result is from a GLP compliant study following a modified N1 method for self-heating substances and is considered suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint (Atwal and Tremain 2011). Platinum is not classified as a readily combustible solid under Division 4.1 as it failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test.
