Description of key information

Log(Kow) for FC-72 was measured to be 5.0 (1.0% RSD) at an average temperature of 23.3°C

The n-Octanol/Water Partition Coefficient (log Kow) of FC-72 was determined according to U.S EPA guidance document OPPTS 830.7550 "Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/Water), Shake Flask Method". Duplicate samples of FC-72 were prepared in each of the three octanol/water ratios (1:1, 1:2, and 2:1). The samples were rotated 180 ° about their transverse axis for 100 times to ensure proper mixing of the test system solvents. The samples were then centrifuged and the aqueous and n-octanol phases were carefully removed and analyzed separately using Purge and Trap and Gas Chromatography/ Mass spectrometry. The log Kow for FC-72 was 5.0, and overall RSD% was 1.0%. This is a guideline study conducted under GLP compliance. Therefore, it is considered reliable without restrictions and a key study.
