Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a 72h acute toxicity limit test conducted according to the OECD guideline 201, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to E99434 at loading nominal rate of 100 mg/L. No toxicity on algae was observed at this loading rate. Therefore, the 72h-EL50 for cell growth was higher than 100 mg/L. As no effects were observed at the water solubility limit and at the loading rate tested no LOEC can be determined and no NOEC can be derived.

Additional information

An experimental study was performed to determine the acute toxicity of E99434 to algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata). The study was conducted according to the OECD guideline 201. Due to the negligible water solubility of test substance (<0.2 µg/L), a Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) of the test substance was applied. The test substance was tested in a limit test at the nominal loading rate of 100 mg test item/L under semi-static conditions for 72 hours. Untreated dilution water was run in parallel as a control. Seven fish each were used at the test concentration and in the control. There were no toxic effects of the test item on Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata at the nominal loading rate of 100 mg test item/L. Thus, the 72h-EL50 for cell growth was determined to be >100 mg/L. As no effects were observed at the water solubility limit and at the loading rate tested no LOEC can be determined and no NOEC can be derived.
