First-aid measures

General advice : Immediate medical attention is required. Move out of dangerous area.

Inhalation : Remove to fresh air. Rinse nose and mouth with water.

Skin contact : Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with difficulty. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

Eye contact : Rinse with plenty of water. Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse during transport. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible tissue damage and blindness.

Ingestion : Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take victim immediately to hospital. Do not induce vomiting! May cause chemical burns in mouth and throat.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Specific hazards during fire fighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.Risks of ignition followed by flame propagation or secondary explosions shall be prevented by avoiding accumulation of dust, e.g. on floors and ledges.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information : Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use personal protective equipment. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions : Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods for cleaning up : Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling : Avoid formation of respirable particles. Persons with a history of skin sensitisation problems or asthma, allergies, chronic or recurrent respiratory disease should not be employed in any process in which this mixture is being used. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. - No smoking. Avoid creating dust.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion : Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. No sparking tools should be used.

Requirements for storage areas and containers : Keep in a dry place. Store at room temperature in the original container. Keep container tightly closed. Reacts with copper, aluminium, zinc and their alloys.
