A study on the toxicity of furfural to collembola was conducted at nominal dose rates of 37.5, 75, 150, 300, 450 and 600 mg/kg soil dw. Folsomia candida were exposed for 28 days, after which the number of offspring was determined. Adult survival and reproduction were statistically significantly reduced at 75 mg/kg soil dw, and the NOEC was 37.5 mg/kg soil dw.
