Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Available data on the melting point of the substance 4-tert-butylcyclohexanol (CAS No. 98-52-2), which is a mixture of cis and trans isomers, show that depending on the contents of the isomers, the substance melts in the range from 56 °C (> 94% of cis form) to 83 °C (> 99% of trans form). Literature data for the mixtures of unknown cis/trans proportions support this conclusion, as all the results lie within the determined range (e.g. reported values from 62 °C to 70 °C or around 82 °C, presumably for the trans isomer).
