Description of key information

A human repeat insult patch test (HRIPT) was conducted with 103 volunteers. The results showed no sensitization reactions to the treatment.

Additional information

BARIUM BIS( DI C8-C10, BRANCHED, C9 RICH, ALKYLNAPHTHALENE SULPHONATE) is considered non-sensitizing based on the results of the HRIPT study. An earlier guinea pig test by the Buehler skin contact method indicated the material was a skin contact sensitizer. Human testing is more relevant to human safety than guinea pig testing and should be used for classification.
