Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

PNEC freshwater sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 192

RHO_(susp) = 1150

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_freshwater sediment = (K_(susp-water)/ RHO_(susp))*PNEC_water * 1000

= (192/1150)* 0.0067 *1000

= 1.12 mg/kg wwt

= 5.15 mg/kg dwt

PNEC marine water sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 192

RHO_(susp) = 1150

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_marine water sediment = (K_(susp-water)/ RHO_(susp))*PNEC_marine water* 1000

= (1870/1150)* 0.00067 * 1000

= 0.112 mg/kg wwt

= 0.515 mg/kg dwt

PNEC soil:

K_(soil-water) = 230

RHO_(soil) = 1700

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 1.13

PNEC_soil = (K_(soil-water)/ RHO_(soil))*PNEC_water * 1000

= (230/1700)* 0.0067 * 1000

= 0.9064 mg/kg wwt

= 1.024 mg/kg dwt

Conclusion on classification

Acute aquatic toxicity:

Fish were the most sensitive species in acute aquatic toxicity tests with the test item, according to EU method C.1 and OECD guideline 203, resulting in a 96-hour LC50 of 6.7 mg/L. Based on acute aquatic toxicity results obtained, the test item was not classified and labelled for acute aquatic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).

Chronic toxicity

Since no adequate chronic toxicity data are available for the test substance the classification based on the results of the acute aquatic toxicity study to fish. The test was performed in accordance to EU method C.1 and OECD guideline 203 resulting in a 96 -hour LC50 value of 6.7 mg/L. The test substance is not readily but inherently biodegradable and the log Pow estimated by a theoretical calculation model is 8.2. Thus, the test substance is considered to be classified as aquatic chronic cat. 2 (H 411) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
