Cas Number:
1073607-50-7
Molecular formula:
C46 H50 Cl N2 O6 S2 . H4 N
IUPAC Name:
2-[(1E)-2-[(3Z)-2-chloro-3-{2-[(2E)-1,1-dimethyl-3-(4-sulfobutyl)-1H,2H,3H-benzo[e]indol-2-ylidene]ethylidene}cyclohex-1-en-1-yl]ethenyl]-1,1-dimethyl-3-(4-sulfonatobutyl)-1H-benzo[e]indol-3-ium amine
Details on test material:
As the sample is a dye the analysis was carried out using the ‘wet’, small volume dispersion system. Several solvents were tried, in order to determine a suitable medium that provided maximum dispersability, but with minimum solubility. Toluene was finally selected as the most suitable dispersant.

volume weighted mean: 16.368µm

mode: 10.615µm

44.34% by volume of sample was seen to be <10.00µm. However, related to the low toxicity profilie and the use of a P3/P2 respiratory protection filter, no inhalation exposure is of concern.
