Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Werksrichtlinie Hoechst
Deviations:
not specified
Principles of method if other than guideline:
A pile of the substance is ignited by a flame or a hot platinum wire and the propargation of the flame is observed visually. The burning behaviour is rated from Comb. Index 1 (no ignition) to Comb. Index 6 (very rapid combustion). The test procedure is very similar to that as laid down in VDI 2263 sheet 1.

no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.
Pyrophoric liquids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
no ignition
Executive summary:

When trying to ignite the pile of the test substance, no reaction was observed. The burning behaviour can therefore be described as Comb. Index 1
