Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Preliminary particle size analysis was required prior to the dust explosion testing conducted to obtain minimum ignition temperature. The particle size of test material as received, was recorded as 100% < 38 microns.

Additional information

Preliminary particle size analysis was required prior to experiments undertaken to derive minimum ignition temperature of potential dust cloud of test material. The particle size of test material as received, was recorded as 100% < 38 microns.

According to ECHA Guidance on the Information Requirements and Chemical Safey Assessment, Chapter R.7A the sieving method used, is not suitable for the determination of the distribution of particles in the respirable fraction. Other methods, e.g. sedimentation, electrical sensing zone method and phase dopplier anemometry are deemed to be more suitable for the assessment of respirable dust. No further analysis will be conducted at this time as the substance is used as an intermediate under strictly controlled conditions, with minimal worker exposure potential.
