Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
> 4 min
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance does neither ignite nor burn neither by burning flame nor by smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 4-minute test period. Therefore the substance should not be considered as highly flammable.

Description of key information

Structural examination shows that the substance does not contain any functional groups associated with flammability.

Additionally, the result of the preliminary assay ( the substance does neither ignite nor burn neither by burning with flame nor by smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 4- substance does neither ignite nor burn neither by burning with flame nor by smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 4-minute test period) leads to conclusion that the substance is not flammable.

Based on experience in handling and use and the chemical structure pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Preliminary essay: Propagation time for combustion over 200 mm > 240 s; Result: negative, no further testing required.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the EC Regulation 1272/2008 and the results obtained in the test for flammability of solids, substance is not classified as flammable.

Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.
