Reference substance:
Boundary composition of sodium 2-phenylphenolate
Name:
sodium 2-phenylphenolate
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
sodium 2-phenylphenolate
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistence (P) Assessment

The substance sodium 2-phenylphenolate (CAS 132-27-4) is considered as readily biodegradable (read across). Therefore, the substance is not expected to be persistent in the environment and it does not meet the Persistent (P) or very Persistent (vP) criteria.

Bioaccumulation (B) Assessment

The substance has a log Pow < 4.5 . Therefore, the substance is not expected to be bioaccumulative and it does not meet the Bioaccumulative (B) or very Bioaccumulative (vB) criteria.

Toxicity (T) Assessment

The available chronic toxicity test on Daphnia magna determined a NOEC (21 d) of 0.006 mg a.i./L (OECD 211; geom. mean). Based on the available data the substance has to be classified as aquatic chronic 1 according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) considering all further amendments. The substance meets the T criterion according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XIII.
