Additional information on results:
No significant increase in the frequency of revertant colonies were  recorded for any of the strains of Salmonella, at any dose level either  with or without metabolic activation. All of the positive control  chemicals used in the test induced marked increases in the frequency of  revertant colonies.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
It was concluded that the substance showed no evidence of mutagenic activity in this bacterial system under the test conditions employed.
Executive summary:

In the in vitro genotoxicity study (Ames test) the substance was tested for mutagenicity in Salmonella typhimurium strains TA1535, TA1537, TA98, TA100 and TA102. Concentrations of up to 5000 μg/plate were tested. No evidence of mutagenic activity was seen at any concentration of the substance. It was concluded that the substance showed no evidence of mutagenic activity in this bacterial system both in the presence and absence of a metabolic activation system.
