Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable
Conclusions:
The reaction of phenylphosphonic dichloride and water was studied by bringing a small amount of neat phenylphosphonic dichloide into contact with an excess of well stirred water and following the generation of acidic reaction products using a pH electrode. After 60 seconds the pH remained constant at 1.6.
The half life of phenylphosphonic dichloride in water at 23 °C was estimated to be < 60 seconds.
