Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Physico-chemical data and an acidic/alkaline reserve test are available.

The substance is constituted of spheres of 1 to 4 mm of diameter and measurements (1) have demonstrated that attrition (i.e. progressive wear caused by friction) was less than 2% (generally <1%). In addition, a particle size distribution test determined that 0% (w/w) of the test substance was smaller than 400 µm.

During the performing of an acidic/alkaline reserve test it had been showed that the substance was very poorly soluble. Indeed, the substance was ground and distilled with water and then kept under magnetic stirring during 4 hours at 37°c. After centrifugation, less than 5% of the initial product was found in the clear phase.

In consequence, all the available information underline that PBN1 mixture is a probably non-reactive, inert substance. The particles size will not allow the substance to be absorbed by the skin or by the respiratory airways.

The particle size distribution test data is presented in § 4.5 and the acidic/alkaline reserve test data is presented § 7.3 .
