Description of key information

Additional information

Stability

Due to technical difficulties to analyze the test substance “REACTION MASS OF AlF3/CrF3/NiF2” and its hydrolysis products, the study (Hydrolysis as a function of pH) was not conducted. The low solubility of the test substance also supports this waiving.

Biodegradation

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study (Ready biodegradability: required in section 9.2.1.1.) does not need to be conducted as the substance is inorganic.

Adsorption

In the case of REACTION MASS OF AlF3/CrF3/NiF2, the test item is solely composed of aluminium, chromium and nickel fluorides. These ions are not concerned by any interaction with the column used in the analytical method, as this one was selected to interact with the organic compounds like those indicated in the tables 1, 2 and 3 of the OECD Guideline. The Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and Sewage Sludge of REACTION MASS OF AlF3/CrF3/NiF2 can thus not be assessed according to the OECD guideline 121, as no interaction can occur with the column used in the analytical method.

However, even if these information were not obtained during the hazard assessment of the concerned substance, according to the claimed uses and the process in which this reaction mass is used the exposure of the environmental is unlikely.
