The results of this study indicate that sulphuric acid is of low acute oral toxicity when gastric intubation is used as the method of administration. Sulphuric acid is not classified for acute oral toxicity according to current EU criteria.
Executive summary:

Unfasted Carworth-Wistar rats (5 of a single sex per dose group) were gavaged with sulphuric acid and observed for 14 days. Based on the pattern of mortalities, the 'most probable median lethal dose' is reported to be 2140 (1540 -2990) mg/kg bw.
