Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

72H-EC50 >2mg/l (the highest and nominal concentration is 100mg/L, the water solubility is <0.3mg/L)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
2 mg/L
EC50 for marine water algae:
2 mg/L

Additional information

- the cell concentration of the solvent control cultures increased by a factor of 19 during the test in line with the OECD Guideline that states the enhancement must be at least by a factor of 16 after 72 hours.

- The information of The mean coefficient of variation for section-by-section specific growth rates (days 0-1, 1-2 and 2-3, for 72-hour tests) in the control cultures must not exceed 35% is not explicitly stated inthe report and must be calculated from the data provided.

- The growth rate for individual control replicates was not provided in the report therefore the validity criterion of The coefficient of variation of average specific growth rates during the whole test period in replicate control cultures cannot be verified.

- The initial cell densities were a bit higher than this recommended level( 2-5×103 cells/ml).

- The water solubility was not reported. However the following information is provided on page 11: The test concentration of 2.0 mg/L was the highest attainable test concentration that could be prepared due to the limited solubility of the test material in water and auxiliary solvent and having due regard to the amount of auxiliary solvent permitted in the study under the OECD Guideline.
