First-aid measures

General information:

Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.

• After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.

• After skin contact:

Wash skin with soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention, if needed. Thoroughly clean and dry contaminated clothing and shoes before reuse.

• After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.

• After swallowing: Call for a doctor immediately.

• Information for doctor:

• The following symptoms may occur:

Respiratory paralysis, gastric pain, drowsiness, dizziness, unconsciousness, agitation, nausea, vomiting, coma.

Fire-fighting measures

• Suitable extinguishing agents: Water spray, dry chemical, alcohol resistant foam.

• Special hazards caused by the substance, its products of combustion or resulting gases:

Combustible material. Risk of dust explosion. Development of  hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire. Fire may cause evolution of Nitrogen oxides, Nitrous gases

• Protective equipment:

Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus and turn-out gear.

• Additional information

Fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazard.

Accidental release measures

• Person-related safety precautions:

Use personal protective equipment. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or

gas.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Remove all sources of ignition.

• Measures for environmental protection:

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.  Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

• Measures for cleaning/collecting:

Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Sweep up and shovel. Reduce airborne dust and prevent

scattering by moistening with water. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Use non-sparking tools and equipment.

Handling and storage

• Handling:

• Information for safe handling:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation

at places where dust is formed. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

• Information about fire - and explosion protection: Keep away from sources of ignition.

• Storage:

• Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Protect from light.

• Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from incompatibles.

• Further information about storage conditions:

Preparations containing this substance should be stored at a temperature less than 40 deg C, preferably

between 15-30 deg C; freezing of the oral solution or suspension should be avoided. Store in a tightly closed container. Avoid contact with air or light.

Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues (dust, solids)

Exposure controls / personal protection

• Additional information about design of technical facilities:

Provide an emergency eye wash fountain and quick drench shower in the immediate work area.

• Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.

• Personal protective equipment:

• General protective and hygienic measures:

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Respiratory protection:

(Contd. of page 3)

For nuisance exposures use type P95 (US) or type P1 (EU EN 143) particle respirator. For higher level

protection use type OV/AG/P99 (US) or type ABEK-P2 (EU EN 143) respirator cartridges. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

• Protection of hands:

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.

Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture.

Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation

Stability and reactivity

• Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:

No decomposition if used according to specifications.

Sensitive to light. Avoid strong heating.

• Materials to be avoided: Oxidizing agents, bases, acids.

• Dangerous decomposition products:

In the presence of heat and water, substance will hydrolyze into acetic acid and p-aminophenol.

Burning may produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides (NOx)

• Additional information: Risk of dust explosion.

Disposal considerations

• Recommendation

Contact a licensed professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material. Dissolve or mix the material

with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company.

• European waste catalogue

07 05 : Wastes from the MFSU(Manufacture, Formulation, Supply and Use) of pharmaceuticals.

• Uncleaned packaging:

• Recommendation:

Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

Dispose off as unused product.
