Additional information

Since the acetic acid - boron trifluoride complex rapidly decomposes in water, the biodegradability of the decomposition products acetic acid and boron trifluoride dihydrate is examined. With 100 % biodegradation in 2 weeks, observed in the OECD test 301 C (JETOC, 1993), acetic acid is considered readily biodegradable. Boron trifluoride dihydrate is inorganic and is therefore not subject to biodegradation.
