Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Ecotoxicological information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Administrative data

Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Justification for type of information:
For this endpoint, an analysis based on the components is performed. Based on SIDS report on Sodium carbonate no acute toxicity was observed on the three trophic levels, including the invertebrates. Based on the SIDS report and EU-RAR about sodium hydroxide, no acute toxicity was observed on the three trophic levels, including the invertebrates. For Na2S, based on registration dossier data, acute invertebrate toxicity was observed, with a LC50 of 0.02 mg/L. Several other data are available in the registration dossier. The conclusion is that for the multi-constituent, an acute invertebrate toxicity is taken into account based on Na2S (read across based on hydrogen sulfide).
