Administrative data

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

The substance does not have the functional groups associated with oxidising properties.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
From the structural formula of Vernaldehyde, it can be concluded that the substance is not an oxidising substance. The substance does not have the functional groups associated with oxidising properties. The oxygen present in the molecule is linked to carbon and hydrogen atoms only. Therefore it can be concluded beyond reasonable doubt that Vernaldehyde is incapable of causing fire or enhance the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material. As such further testing is not needed.
