Two DSC measurements in closed glass crucibles with the test item showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 35 - 55 °C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 290 – 410 °C with a maximum energy release of 402 J/g. Starting at around 410 °C the course of the baseline indicated a pressure build up. Therefore, an additional measurement in a high pressure crucible was performed. The DSC measurement in a closed high pressure crucible with the test item showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 35 - 55 °C and multiple exothermal effects. The first exothermal effect occurred in the temperature range of 135 -175 °C with an energy release of 29 J/g. The second exothermal effect in the temperature range of 190 - 340 °C showed an energy release of 269 J/g. The third exothermal effect in the temperature range of 340 - 420 °C showed an energy release of 572 J/g.

Conclusions:
According to the OECD TG 113 criteria, the test item was considered to be thermal stable at room temperature as no decomposition or chemical transformation was found below 150 °C.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 113 to determine the thermal stability of the test item using DSC measurement. The test item was weighed into a closed glass crucible under nitrogen. For the test on thermal stability, the crucibles were heated up from ambient temperature to 500 °C with a heating rate of 3 K/min. Two DSC measurements in closed glass crucibles with the test item showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 35 - 55 °C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 290 – 410 °C with a maximum energy release of 402 J/g. The second exothermal effect in the temperature range of 190 - 340 °C showed an energy release of 269 J/g. The third exothermal effect in the temperature range of 340 - 420 °C showed an energy release of 572 J/g. According to the OECD TG 113 criteria, the test item was considered to be thermal stable at room temperature as no decomposition or chemical transformation was found below 150 °C.
