Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an activated sludge respiration inhibition study the Registration material was found to have an EC50 of > 100 mg/L according to the OECD Guideline 209 (Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test). However, the sample tested was known to be 65% registration material purity (also present being some base oil and other components) so the value used in risk assessment was adjusted down to take account of this.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
65 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
65 mg/L

Additional information

In the key study (Daniels, 2010), the acute toxicity of the test material activated sludge (domestic) was investigated. The study was conducted according to OECD Guideline 209 (Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test). This study is presented as the key information as the reliability rating for this study is 1, according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997, and the study was conducted to a recognised guideline and GLP and is using the Registration material.
