Additional information
Flammability test (solid) was performed according to the EU Method A.10 (EC 440/2008) and UN Method N1. First, a safety test was performed. A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner in order to derive safety precautions; the test item carbonised with a sooting yellow flame.
In the preliminary screening test, the test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner; the substance carbonised with a big sooting yellow flame. No signs for flammability could be observed.
Since ignition did not occur within two minutes, no determination of burning rate was necessary.
Justification for classification or non-classification
According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 powdered, granular or pasty substances or mixtures (except powders of metals or metal alloys — see 2.7.2.2) shall be classified as readily combustible solids when the time of burning of one or more of the test runs, performed in accordance with the test method described in Part III, sub section 33.2.1, of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, is less than 45 seconds or the rate of burning is more than 2,2 mm/s.
No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The substance is not classified as flammable.
