Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

For the classification of flammable liquids data on flash point and initial boiling point are needed.

Tert-butyl bromoacetate has a flash point of 37 °C and a boiling point is estimated to be 175 °C.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), 2.6 section, flammable liquid means a liquid having a flash point of not more than 60 °C.

Substances with a flash point equal/higher than 23 °C and equal/lower than 60 °C are classified in category 3.

In the case of tert-butyl bromoacetate the flash point is 37 °c, thus a classification as Flam. Liq. 3 (H226) is proposed, according to the CLP Regulatin (EC 1272/2008).
