Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Due to the technical impossibility to follow HPLC screening or ratio of direct solubilities in n-octanol and water (the test item being fully miscible in both media), a specific method was followed.

The concentration of the test item was quantified in an aqueous stock solution as well as in its aqueous phase after mixing with n-octanol, centrifugation and separation. The concentration in corresponding n-octanol phase was deduced by difference from the concentration in stock solution. The ratio of concentrations in aqueous and n-octanol phases enabled to conclude that Log Kow was approximately -1.0 (mean of 2 assays) at 20°C and a pH of 10.6 (in aqueous phase).
