Conclusions:
In a closed cup test, conducted according to EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A9 and to GLP, a flash point temperature for Coffee, bean, roasted, ext. was determined as No flash to boiling.

Based on the results from flash point and boiling point tests Coffee, bean, roasted ext. does not require classification as a flammable liquid according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
Executive summary:

A closed cup method, conducted according to EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A9 and to GLP, was performed to determine the flash point temperature of Coffee, bean, roasted, ext.

In the test conducted according to Procedure A, the sample was heated at a rate of 5 to 6°C per minute with continual stirring at 90 to 120 rpm in a closed cup (volume ca. 100 cm3). A small flame with a diameter of 3.2 to 4.8 mm was directed into the cup containing the sample, at regular intervals, with simultaneous interruption of stirring. Due to the sample boiling, higher test temperatures could not be attained and therefore, testing was terminated and the flash point temperature was determined as No flash to boiling for Coffee, bean, roasted, ext.

Description of key information

Flash point temperature: No flash to boiling

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A closed cup method, conducted according to EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A9, ASTM D 3828 and to GLP, were performed to determine the flash point temperature of Coffee, bean, roasted, ext.

A flash point temperature of Coffee, bean, roasted, ext. was determined as No flash to boiling.

Based on the results from flash point and boiling point tests Coffee, bean, roasted, ext. does not require classification as a flammable liquid according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
