Additional information

The partition coefficient of the test material was investigated in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 117 and EU Method A.8. All methodology and results were reported in full. The study was therefore assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the principles for assessing data quality as described by Klimisch et al. (1997).

As the test material was a complex mixture and the result expected to be high, it was concluded that the HPLC method would be the most suitable for determination of partition coefficient. The mobile phase's pH was unadjusted as the test material had no dissociation constants within the environmentally relevant pH range and so was tested in a non-ionised form.

The mobile phase was methanol:purified water (80:20 v/v) and was ramped to 100 % tetrahydrofuran shortly after the elution of the last reference standard in order to elute the highly retained test material components. This was carried out for the sample and sample blank injections only.

Under the conditions of the study, the partition coefficient of the test material was determined to be >1.00 x 10¹⁰ and the log10 Pow > 10.0.
