Conclusion on classification

As an inorganic substance, the reaction mass of neodymium carbonate and praseodymium carbonate is not biodegradable. Based on data obtained with soluble salts of neodymium and praseodymium, the reaction mass should not show any potential for bioaccumulation. Short-term tests performed on the three trophic levels (i.e. fish, daphnids, algae) does not reveal any acute toxicity. Furthermore, the long-term data on algae indicate that the reaction mass presents no chronic adverse effects on this species. As a result, the reaction mass of neodymium carbonate and praseodymium carbonate is not classified regarding its environmental impacts, according to the classification criteria of Annex VI of Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (EU CLP), and UN GHS.
