Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Based on the testresult, the test item has not to be classified as readily combustible solid in class 4.1 (UN-transport regulation), not as highly flammable according to EC 440/2008, and not as readily combustible solid GHS or EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.7., respectively.
Executive summary:

First, the Burning Number BZ was determined according to VDI 2263, sheet 1. The burning number varies between 1 (no ignition) and 6 (very apid combustion). For the determination of the burning number, the substance is filled up as a pile with a thickness of 2 cm and a length of 4 cm on a ceramic plate using a small mould. An ignition source (flame or glowing coil, respectively) is used to ignite the pile. The burning behavior was assessed by a burning number 1 . Since the burning number was <4 a determination of the burning rate was not required. The substance melted after contact with the ignition sourcs. Therefore, the determination was repeated with a mixture containing 20% Kieselgur resulting in a burning number 5 ( burning with flame propagation). Results from the mixture are not relevant for classification.
