Description of key information

Metal carboxylates calcium neodecanoate are substances consisting of a metal cation and a carboxylic acid anion. Based on the solubility of calcium neodecanoate in water, a complete dissociation of calcium neodecanoate resulting in calcium and neodecanoate ions may be assumed under environmental conditions. Hydrolysis is not relevant for the fate of calcium and neodecanoate ions due to the respective absence of hydrolysable functional groups. Thus, abiotic degradatipn is not expected to contribute to the fate of calcium neodecanoate in the environment.
