Description of key information

Flammable solid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

The flammability of the substance was tested according UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids).

The screening test was positive and the full burning rate test was performed. The burning time of the test item was less than 45 s and the wet zone didn't stop the flame in all six runs.

Based on these results, Tetraphosphorus trisulphide is classified as flammable solid (H228,cat.1) according to the CLP Regulation (EC n.1272/2008). Moreover, division 4.1 packaging group II was assigned to test item in accordance with UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Good, Manual of Tests and Criteria.

Justification for classification or non-classification
