Additional information

Two reliable studies that reported on the toxicity of ammonium thiosulfate on invertebrate species: the cladoceran Daphnia magna and the marine mysid shrimp Mysoidopsis bahia. As guidance recommends tests like the 48h-test with D. magna for classification purposes, the value of 230 mg ammonium thiosulfate is selected as key value for this endpoint

Expressing this 48h-EC50 as thiosulfate or sulfite results in a value of 174 mg S2O32-/L and 248.2 mg SO32-/L.
