Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Water solubility = 4.40% (w/w)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Percentage of water soluble compunds in the substance, UVCB item, established by the flask method is 4.40%. This value is obtained using the gravimetric method as analytical method.

The test item is a pigment and as such it is expected to be approximately insoluble. The higher than expected solubility resulted in the test can be a consequence of the testing procedure: stirring at 30°C for some days can partially break the aluminium complexes present in the UVCB item or stirring at a pH=4.2 can partially convert Aluminium hydroxide in its soluble forms.
