According to OECD 471, GLP study, mutagenic activity is observed on Salmonella thyphimurium TA 98 (without and with metabolic activation) and in Salmonella typhimurium TA 100 (with metabolic activation), therefore, Cobalt Phthalocyanine is considered mutagenic on bacteria.

According to the in vitro mammalian cell micronucleus test (equivalent to OECD 487), Cobalt Phthalocyanine is not considered mutagenic in mammalian cells.

Based on the two studies available, it is not possible to conclude on the mutagenic potential of the test item.
