Table 1. Metal block method results

Temperature

Melting stage (as referenced in OECD Method 102)

 Sample I  Sample II
A
B
C  61.5 62.0
 63.0 63.0
E  64.0

64.0

The initial stages of melting, as referenced in OECD Method 102, were indistinct.

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

The DSC trace showed a sharp endotherm at approximately 64°C, consistent with the melting temperature observed in the metal block test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting range of WS-23 was found to be 62 to 64°C.
Executive summary:

The melting temperature of WS-23 was determined using the metal block method (according to OECD TG 102). The melting range of WS-23 was found to be 62 to 64°C.
